Entrance Fees are Waived for Season 1, 2026 !!

1. Each league member wanting to earn points toward the year-end playoff will need to contribute a $20 entry fee. You will not be able to earn points until you pay this fee.
   1. League fees are paid directly to a league organizer.
   2. Entry fees may be paid in cash, venmo/paypal, apple pay, or IWinGames gift cards.
   3. 100% of league fees will be paid out as prizes at the end of the season.
      
      
2. The entry fee is not mandatory to play and you can still earn a trophy pin by going 3-0 in a draft. However, the season-end playoff is only for members who have earned points.
   
   
3. Points-earning league members caught soliciting wins from players who have not paid the league entry fee will be given an automatic match loss and their participation points for the night will be revoked. They may still earn points in subsequent matches that night.
   
   
4. Priority for main-event draft spots is given to members who have paid the entrance fee. We will have backup cubes on hand to handle overflow participants, but it may not be what is listed on the website schedule.
   
   
5. The league is still being run at a causal REL. In most cases it will be up to the cube owners to settle rules disputes and we expect cube owners to err towards the spirit of the game/cube rather than WoTC's technical, as-printed, comprehensive rules.
   1. In cases of egregious, match-deciding rules disputes, you can appeal rulings to a league organizer once the match is finished. The league organizer may retroactively add points to a player's score but will not reverse the outcome (win/loss) of a match for the purposes of advancing to the next round in the draft.
   2. Example: In the first round of a draft, James and Jordon have a rules dispute. The cube owner rules in Jordon's favor and Jordon advances to the next round at 1-0. James appeals the decision to a league organizer who agrees the initial ruling was incorrect. James is awarded 3 match points, however for the purposes of the draft he will still be in the 0-1 bracket. No points are subtracted from Jordon. Both James and Jordon still have the opportunity to earn 9 match points for the night. Only Jordon is eligible for a trophy pin and an extra point at the end of the draft.
      
      
6. For the purpose of the Top 8 Playoff at the end of the season, players will be ranked by total points accumulated. In the event of a tie, trophy pins will be used as the tie-breaker.
   
   
7. Players are encouraged to schedule impromptu drafts outside of our normal Monday draft times. However, in order for these drafts to be counted toward the current season's point totals, the draft must be:
   1. Open to all league members for participation. (To the extent permitted by cube size)
   2. Scheduled on the HCL discord and website no less than 5 days prior to the start of the draft.
      
      
8. Cube owners may offer additional prizing for drafting their cubes. However, they are not allowed to change any point/pin distribution rules for the night.
